The year 2008 will mark the 81th anniversary of the creation of Camp Huckins. Since its founding in 1928, Camp Huckins has provided a special kind of summer experience for each young person to cherish and carry with them throughout their life.Campers on waterfront swing

Although the camp has grown and changed over the years, our essential mission remains the same. Our goal is to provide a sharing and caring atmosphere where each person can grow to realize their full potential .  An important aspect of this goal is to encourage the development of leadership skills. Many of our staff and program specialists  have started as campers and have worked their way up through the ranks to become counselors. Many eventually return as professional program staff members to pass on their valuable skills to new generations of campers.

Camp Huckins is located in the town of Freedom, NH.  The camp's approximate 200 acres include 2800 feet of sandy shoreline on Ossipee Lake's Broad Bay.  Our active waterfront includes a private island .Looking toward tower from Huckins waterfront

Our camp is divided into four living/ activity units: the Juniors, the Middlers, the Seniors, and the Leadership Division.  Campers range from those who have just completed the third grade up through the ninth grade level. Some campers return by invitation for the Counselor-in-Training Program.

The campers are housed in traditional wood framed cabins nestled in the pines.  Each rustic cabin is equipped with large screened panels, bunk beds and electric lighting.                                                                          Camper cabins

Central shower houses, with hot water and toilet facilities are located in each division.  Camp Huckins has a dining hall and kitchen that serves meals for 500 campers and staff  three times daily.  Other facilities on site include a gymnasium, program lodge, arts and crafts building, waterfront building, year round office and a well equipped infirmary with registered nurses on duty.
